A wooden floor is the perfect type of flooring as it is a classic surface that wears well, improves with age and complements most styles of interior, from the stripped down, minimalist interior to the warm, friendly interior of a country house. Wooden floors are attractive, warm underfoot, and durable. And now there are laminate floors available as well. But what’s the difference?
Timber floors are made with a layer of real wood on the top of a HDF core and are laid over top of your existing floor. Depending on the thickness of the wood layer you can sand back and refinish the floor several times. They are pre-finished with lacquers, which means no smells and waiting around for layers of polyurethane to dry!
Laminate flooring also has a layered system with an HDF core, but here the top layer is actually a photograph. The advantages of laminate flooring are they can cost less, are tough, and easy to clean.
Carpet Court has a huge selection of both wood and laminate flooring options available.
